Nice small specialty restaurant inside an old 1870s home. A little tricky finding parking area by side of house but it's there. Meal was homecooked and very good. Plus, the little boutique had a lot of fun stuff in it, including homemade candies. We really enjoyed the experience. A great way to break up a long day of travel.

Back Home Restaurant offers a delightful taste of Kentucky with their flavorful dishes. Very happy we made a stop here. The service was impeccable, adding to the overall dining experience. The honey chicken Mac and cheese was a standout dish, perfectly blending sweet and savory flavors. Loved the green fried tomatoes! The cozy atmosphere made it a memorable dining destination for my family. Highly recommended for anyone craving comforting Southern cuisine with a touch of excellence.

Absolute absolute must!! If you are within driving distance make this trip. The food is unbelievable! I had the Meatloaf with pintos and hashbrown casserole. My wife had the Country fried steak and gravy. Which I kept stealing bites of and my son had the chicken fried chicken. Man nothing on the menu is a miss. Great atmosphere great staff, but the food I just can't describe it. Simply Amazing!!

A last minute choice after going to the Sunflower Festival. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Trevon was super attentive and efficient. All eight of us loved our choices..from their ‘signature’ meatloaf, hot brown, to the open faced roast beef. The chocolate cake was a notch above the peach cobbler. Will not hesitate to go back.

Drove up from Nashville in route to Bardstown and stopped by on a whim for lunch, and so glad we did! The food was absolutely flawless and the service was outstanding. We shared the hot brown, the honey chicken and Mac and cheese, and then had the peach cobbler and coalminers cake for dessert. Here are pics of everything: they speak for themselves.

This place is a must-go for all who visits E-Town. The food is all-around great and fresh! The waiter consistently checks on you(without overdoing it) and the vibe there was so enjoyable. Do not leave there without trying their sweet potato casserole! You'll regret it.

I loved everything about Back Home, from the nicely decorated historic house to the vast menu options. I wish I could've tried a dessert however I was too full. The chicken fried chicken, sweet potato casserole and broccoli casserole were awesome! The food was very flavorful. I also loved the pecans in the sweet potato casserole.

Please like us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTRAVELS and EATWELLTRAVELOFTEN 2.25.25 lunch This time Diane had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. I had the pinto beans and cornbread. All items were, once again, very enjoyable. Still highly recommended two-thumbs What a great find of a unique local restaurant. Located in a restored old home, Back Home has a restaurant downstairs and a boutique upstairs. Such a great atmosphere. Diane had the Original Hot Brown, an open face turkey sandwich with a bechamel cheese sauce. I had the Honey chicken Mac & Cheese Diane: I grew up eating open-faced turkey sandwiches with leftover turkey and gravy from Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, but this was a new take on that thought and was SO delicious. I may even prefer the cheese sauce to the usual gravy. The turkey was tender, juicy, and had a nice flavor. The cheese sauce was creamy and tasty. The bacon was crispy and was a nice added flavor to the dish. Steve: Mac & Cheese is a simple dish that can be improved or ruined very easy. This one is an improvement. The white cheddar was smooth and tasteful without being overbearing and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The honey chicken was a wonderful addition. Crispy with just the right amount of honey and the chicken was tender and juicy. Service was friendly and helpful. Overall this was a gem of a find. Highly recommended two thumbs-up
